Sota Awaraya is a shy elementary school kid who lives in Okinawa. He doesn't get along with people easily. The only person he feels close to is his older brother — they play catch together on an open field near their home. But then he finds out a community center is going to be built there, so he decides to fight against it all by himself.

That's when he meets Reiko Tetsumura, a free-spirited architect. She shows him how amazing architecture can be, and it changes him. Sota starts dreaming of becoming an architect too. He grows up and gets into a top university in Tokyo to study architecture — but them...
